PUBLIC CHARACTER RECORD

What is known

Pressel keeps the weather notices at Fogcatch Court in Cloudrest Assembly current and readable, replacing old warnings and setting out incoming updates where passers-by can study them. The buoyant keeper hovers clear of a gathering crowd and waits for room rather than pressing through it. Gentle persistence makes the work dependable. Pressel records and presents reports; the role establishes no power to forecast the weather, command transport or endure being tethered.

PHYSICAL RECORD

A presence before an explanation

Silhouette
A dense upright rectangle softened by organic swelling, topped with four blunt horn-lobes, cinched by a broad diagonal band, and flanked by hanging chain lengths. Beneath, the form drops suddenly into two filament-thin legs and broad clustered feet that dangle below the mass.
Scale
Reads as short and compact, but visually overfull. The face is tiny relative to the casing, making the outer body feel like a pressurized envelope around a much smaller inner being. The lower limbs are drastically slight compared with the upper volume.
Material
Cool taut skin with a faint semi-translucent bloom over the swelled casing, darker damp-looking folds around the wrap, thin tendon-like legs, and soft puffed foot pads like clustered air bladders. The chains read as cold iron accents only.

OCCUPATION & CHARACTER

Weather-notice keeper

watchfulcontainedgentlepersistentsecretly forceful

It looks like a captive thing on the verge of bursting, yet its manner reads more considerate than aggressive.

WANTS

  • to keep its integrity without being overbound
  • to move freely without being seized or pinned down
  • to be met with steadiness rather than alarm

FEARS

  • complete rupture or loss of self-control
  • being fastened down again once it has broken loose
  • sudden puncture, constriction, or crowding

HABITS

  • hovers at a measured height instead of settling fully when uncertain
  • keeps its gaze fixed and unblinking a moment longer than expected
  • drifts back from edges or grasping hands while maintaining eye contact
  • tightens the front wrap and surrounding folds when agitated

SOURCE ANCHORS

  • The small inset face with large dark oval eyes peering out from the central opening
  • The tall rectangular casing-body with four uneven upright crown-lobes along the top edge
  • The thick diagonal wrap crossing the front like a self-binding band
  • Bursting seams or ruptured openings around the face and body, with broken chains hanging on both sides
  • The thread-thin dangling legs ending in oversized clustered flower-like feet
