PUBLIC CHARACTER RECORD

What is known

Morrowroot tends nursery beds in The Ravelgreen, checking shade, moisture and whether newly moved seedlings have settled. Long green fingers test the soil gently while the broad plant-bodied keeper works with patient, unhurried attention. A struggling root is given time and a better place; it is not lectured for failing to thrive on schedule.

PHYSICAL RECORD

A presence before an explanation

Silhouette
Top-heavy and shrine-like: a rooted trunk body widening at the base, broad lateral arm-spans, and a spray of flowering tendrils rising above the head like a small canopy.
Scale
Feels squat-to-medium in height but wide in footprint, with oversized facial features, thick central mass, and unusually elongated fingers that read longer than the forearms expect.
Material
Supple plant-hide with waxy green fingers, sun-touched yellow-olive body planes, and bright pollen-rich flowers; frilled edges slightly crisped and leathery like hardy foliage in bright weather.

OCCUPATION & CHARACTER

Nursery-bed settling keeper

patientgentleattentiveunhurriedmildly melancholic-looking but affectionate

It appears drowsy and ancient, but its attention is intimate and immediate; nothing small around it seems to escape notice.

WANTS

  • to be approached without fear
  • to keep small living things around it thriving
  • to remain in places where growth feels negotiated rather than controlled

FEARS

  • being cut back too harshly or handled as if it were only useful for parts
  • sudden fire, blight, or drying conditions
  • being mistaken for inert scenery and ignored when it is trying to connect

HABITS

  • lets its fingers trail over surfaces as if checking their health
  • holds very still when listening
  • allows blossoms to remain even when they make it look a little untidy
  • tilts its whole upper body rather than making quick head movements

SOURCE ANCHORS

  • Heavy-lidded, drooping eyes set in a solemn but friendly face
  • Flowering crown of upward tendrils sprouting from the top of the head
  • Very long, rootlike green fingers extending from broad arm-branches
  • Layered, shaggy plant-fringe around shoulders and torso with small blossoms embedded through the body
  • Splayed root-foot base that spreads outward into the ground
